I was going to write about finding this shirt in my closet and visiting with family, but instead I will tell you a little about the conversations I have been having with my sister and husband. I am thinking about quitting :( I don't know if any of you have put yourself "out there" before, but doing this blog has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone. When I started this blog I had very high expectations for myself, like most people do when they set out to do something. I also set a goal for myself, which I have not reached, not even close. Blogging can sometimes be the most rewarding part of my day and it can also be the worst part of my day. I have received so much support from many of my family and friends and I am very grateful for that. I wouldn't have made it this long without them. I think I need to reevaluate why I am doing this and what I hope to gain, if anything. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated :)

I thought this skirt was really fun and decided to step outside of my comfort zone a bit. I have been getting very excited for Fall and the upcoming holidays. There is nothing better than pumpkin flavored everything, changing leaves, snuggly blankets, and the smell of rain. Have a great day!

Date Night

Nick surprised me with a date to the movies on Tuesday evening. We figured out that the last time I had been to the movies was last summer! We used to go all the time, but neither of us have movie going very high up on our list of priorities. It was nice to treat a weekday like the weekend for once though. It was also a good way to cheer me up.

As many of you already know, my grandma passed away on Sunday. I have very mixed emotions when it comes to death, but one thing that I do know is that even under crappy circumstances it is always great to see family. The rosary was last night and afterwards many of us headed to dinner. On the car ride home I was smiling and feeling so much joy after being around family and catching up. It makes me want to buy a bunch of land and build our own little commune that we all live in. Who's in? :)

Tahoe part 2- Short shorts and Crochet

Vacations are such a great opportunity to wear clothing combos that aren't appropriate for work and a little too fancy for everyday (IMHO).  I bought this top a couple of years ago and I don't think that I will ever get tired of it. Anything with flowy sleeves and crochet gets an A in my book!

 

Our second day in Tahoe consisted of me playing my first nine holes of golf. I lost the very first ball that I hit to the wilderness, but after that I managed to keep it on the course. I had so much fun the first time around that we went again the next day with our future brother-in-law, AKA my coach. I was so excited to get two double boagies! Hopefully we will get to play again soon.

Tahoe part 1

Nick and I spent a long weekend in South Lake Tahoe, celebrating his sister's birthday and the 4th of July. The beautiful scenery provided a great opportunity for us to try out the new camera. This was our first day of photos and you will see the quality continue to improve as the week goes on. A special thank you to Nate, who gave Nick a crash course in photography and helped make adjustments to the camera.  I can't wait for you to see the rest of the photos!

Summer Stripes

I tried taking some "selfies" without a proper camera stand. Even Dexter was exhausted by my sad attempt :)  I spent the night at my awesome friend's house Sunday night and came to several realizations:
 

1) I really REALLY miss her. I knew I missed her before, but actually getting to hang out for a while elevated those feelings.

2) I need to get a clarisonic. My face felt so smooth afterwards.

3) I also need to start using WEN hair care products. My sister has been trying to convince me for a couple of months now and I have to admit that my hair never felt softer.

4) Having a personal trainer is awesome...especially when it is your BFF and you get to work out with a small group of friends.

5) I also was lucky enough to enjoy the company of her sister who I adore spending time with, which in turn made me miss my sister even more.

 

I would also like to mention that a stranger pinned one of my outfits on Pinterest and it kind of (err....absolutely) made my day.

One of the chores that I need to get to this summer is cleaning out my closet. I have decided that I have waaaayyy to many summer outfit options and that I really don't need anything new. It is hard to not get caught up in buying the latest and greatest, especially when you have a blog, but I think it will be more fun to remix the items I already have in my closet. This will serve as somewhat of a challenge, forcing me to become a bit more creative with my outfits. The challenge begins today!!!!
