With the exception of my dinner date outfits, I feel like I have really been getting back to the basics for my everyday wear. I don't feel like layering jewelry or clothing at all and there is something about a flare jean that has been calling my name. I hope you all are having a great week.

Last Summer

I was cleaning out my closet and found these shorts at the bottom of the pile.  This was one of my go-to looks last summer and I am still diggin' it! On a completely different note, I tried a new fitness class and I am loving it. It is a mix of yoga, pilates, and strength. It is kind of like a fast paced yoga/pilates done to really fun music. It's nice to mix up my routine.

Sometimes I feel like photographs just don't do my outfit justice. This blouse is beautiful in person, but is coming across a little bleh in the photos. Don't worry folks, I realize that the denim/chambray trend has been a bit over done, but what hasn't? I love my denim jacket, but it is a bit too warm this time of year for it. A button up is a nice alternative.

 

The summer break has afforded me with ample time for thinking/contemplating and has resulted in a few personal goals. I guess it doesn't have to be January 1st to make some resolutions...

I apologize for the lack of a post on Friday. I didn't quite get my stuff together before leaving for our camping trip last week. We enjoyed several beautiful days camping on the beach with friends. We ate, we drank, we had a boys versus girls olympics (of course the girls won), enjoyed the views, and got blown away by the wind. I think my favorite part of the trip was unplugging from the internet/phone and enjoying the company and great outdoors (our makeshift volleyball court was a close second).  I used to hate it when others would be on their IPhones at the dinner table, during social events, etc. and I have found myself partaking in the behavior that I detested so much. Since returning home, I have been making a conscious effort to use all of my devices less. I find that I am a much more pleasant person when I am not caught up in the happenings of others. Maybe I am just crazy :)
