Favorite Dress Ever

I have had this dress for over 5 years and I always wear it multiple times throughout the warmer months. Hopefully, when my sister gets rid of her black version she will send it to its "forever home." Speaking of sisters...I had a nice chat with mine this weekend. (Note: We don't always talk about negative feelings, but I have a tendency to share our findings when we do) Long story short, I realized that I become very defensive and competitive when I believe that somebody thinks they are "better than me" (and I mean this in a life sense not a single topic). I am sharing this because I realize that I need to make some changes in my reaction to this and I am currently following through with those changes. I always tell my husband that I hope I continue to grow, constantly attempting to learn and better myself. Blogging is a great avenue in which I can share my journey with you all. Thanks for following along :)

Fashion for Less

It is easy to get caught up in the "name brand" game and I know that I definitely do. Although, in many cases I think it is smart to find cheaper alternatives, especially when it comes to trendier items, such as colored denim, peplum, etc. We don't all have the budgets of movie stars (and popular bloggers). Forever 21 is a store that a frequent hat satisfies that trendy side of mine without breaking the bank. Here are a few of their new arrivals that I am loving. What is your take on spend versus save for those trendier items?

I found this clutch at Marshalls several years ago and can't help but feel like I found a treasure. I love the color and all of the details! If you know me, you know that I have a peanut head...like XS hats are still too big. However, I still love hats and will attempt to wear them whenever possible. I tend to poof my hair out a little to help fill the extra space in the hat :)

Spring Uniform

 

Top Old (Marshalls?)/ Bag Rebecca Minkoff/ Sandals Sam Edelman/ Jeans 7FAM

 

My spring uniform only differs from my fall uniform in a few ways: switch the fun heels for embellished sandals or wedges and shorten the blouses sleeve length. Nick and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary yesterday...we still counted it even though we started over with years of marriage. We spent the day going back and forth to Lowes sprucing up our yard! It is kind of hard to tell from the photos, but the cardigan is also peplum. These shoes have been on heavy rotation as of late. I love when I find a steal at Marshalls and get more wear out of the item than initially predicted. Thanks for reading!
