I had a very busy weekend and have yet again neglected my blog. I believe I have said this before, but I am not a picture person (then why the heck did I start a blog? haha). Example: I was gone all weekend in beautiful Tahoe, dancing it up with some gorgeous ladies and I managed to take about five whole pictures while I was there. We outfit planned for weeks...and still no pictures. I like to think that I am having too much fun to remember to take a dumb picture. I would rather be actually making the memories instead of just photographing a bunch of stuff...but I guess that it is just my excuse for not keeping my blog in mind :) I hope you will forgive me!

Favorite Dress Ever

I have had this dress for over 5 years and I always wear it multiple times throughout the warmer months. Hopefully, when my sister gets rid of her black version she will send it to its "forever home." Speaking of sisters...I had a nice chat with mine this weekend. (Note: We don't always talk about negative feelings, but I have a tendency to share our findings when we do) Long story short, I realized that I become very defensive and competitive when I believe that somebody thinks they are "better than me" (and I mean this in a life sense not a single topic). I am sharing this because I realize that I need to make some changes in my reaction to this and I am currently following through with those changes. I always tell my husband that I hope I continue to grow, constantly attempting to learn and better myself. Blogging is a great avenue in which I can share my journey with you all. Thanks for following along :)

Talk nerdy to me...

The strings hanging down from this top kind of look like suspenders, which I didn't notice until I uploaded the photos. This somewhat nerdy ensemble reminded me of a themed birthday party that Nick and I recently attended, which included dressing up as a high school stereotype. I dressed as a nerd and decided that my actual glasses were nerdy enough, so just added a little tape. When I got there another party goer told me that she bought a pair of nerd glasses for the party too! I just had o laugh, knowing that my actual glasses are rather large.  I also first learned about and participated in a Harlem Shake video. I think I must live under a rock to not have heard about that before a couple weekends ago. 

Side note: I hardly ever straighten my hair, so of course I chose a rainy day to finally do so!

Boots and the Fur

My husband is not a huge fan of breakfast foods, but I could eat breakfast for every meal...pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, cinnamon rolls, yum! In an attempt to appease my somewhat picky other half I made whole grain waffles with walnuts and bananas and topped them with organic maple syrup. I got a new cookbook for my birthday, so be prepared for some more food posts. P.S. I know the song is boots with the fur, but that didn't quite fit!

Sorry, this dress reminded me of that song. I spent the weekend cleaning, specifically my closet.  I always hate the idea of cleaning, but it feels so nice once it is all done and organized. I hope all you beauties had a great weekend!
