Ocean Getaway...

 

Outfit: Jeans, scarf, jacket Nordstrom/ Shoes and top Target

 

Nick and I had way too much fun this weekend celebrating our cousin's birthday on the coast. As per usual I did not take nearly as many photos as I should have.  Our weekend in a nutshell: breath taking views from the deck, "goldfish" (what several of the people at the house called go fish), abusing of Instagram (#ortegapartay), and shenanigans! I already have a love hate relationship with Instagram for the following reasons:

1. It can be a "time suck" just like Facebook.
2. It allows you to quickly see what is going on in the lives of your favorite people.
3. I don't get the hashtag thing, but it is entertaining trying to use them.
4. It pretty much takes the place of a text message, but is obviously waaaay more public.
5. After looking at the most random of people on Instagram, I see that piling on 200 items from J. Crew is what constitutes "fashion" nowadays.
6. I will probably end up hating it just like I did Facebook.

Back to work....only 28 more days until summer break!

I wore this for an evening out with my husband a couple of weekends ago. There is nothing sexier to me than a great pair of heels and a silky blouse!  I love the open sleeves of this top since it highlights my shoulders. I have had these heels for a while and haven't gotten as much wear out of them as I wish. They are just a tad bit big, even with a heel slip insert. They are used for occasions that don't require a lot of walking, such as dinner dates :) I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Nick actually liked these shoes, which surprised me (he is the one that suggested the shoe close-up). He isn't always a huge fan of my sometimes impractical/outlandish footwear. Happy Friday!

One skirt, two ways...

I wore this skirt to work and then switched up some pieces and wore it out to dinner. I have a bad habit of wearing an item one way and then sticking to it the next time I wear the item.
