I am thinking of silly similes to describe just how small and insignificant my little blog is, but none of them are very good so I will keep them to myself. Nick and I have had such a wonderful weekend, reminding me to be so thankful for our fabulous friends and family. We started our three day weekend off with dinner at a restaurant that I have been wanting to try for years, helping celebrate the five year wedding anniversary of our cousin. There may have been vodka cranberries and a haircut involved. On Saturday we attended an army themed birthday party for their two sons. I have never seen so many plastic guns in my life. We ended the evening with a sushi dinner date with my favorite running partner ;) and Aziz Ansari (so hilarious). Sunday we relaxed, picked some cherries, and shared a wonderful meal at our aunt and uncle's house with my mom and her bf. Don't you just love three day weekends?

I talked about being a host on yesterday's post and I did just that last night with a bunco party! I tried a few different sangria recipes and they all seemed to be a hit! Heading to work after a night of fun is kind of a downer, but at least I only have 8 days left :)

We received many lovely gifts for our wedding, including some gorgeous serving dishes and a fabulous drink dispenser (think ZGallerie).  I haven't had many opportunities to use my shiny new things, so I have decided that I need to host more events. I am a little apprehensive, because there are many people that I know (my sister and Nicole to name the top two), who know how to put together a dinner party. They both pay attention to detail and always serve tasty, creative meals. They should both start a blog for party hosting! I know I would be a follower.....

Weekend Wear: Striped Shorts...

I wore this outfit while running errands with my husband this weekend. The hat was a perfect way to hide my hair since I was feeling a bit lazy. These cute shorts were a steal at nine dollars!  I have quite a bit of difficulty finding shorts that fit me right (or how I like them to). I sized up on these ones to achieve my desired look. Now I just need some color on those legs :)

 

P.S. As you can tell from the photos we spent a lot of time this weekend messing with the camera settings.

I wore this outfit to work on Friday when the weather was a bit cooler. The hubby and I are making some attempts to not just use the manual setting on the camera, which explains the different qualities of each of the photos. We decided that we can't get the look we are going for using my Sony cybershot, but we aren't ready to make the jump to a nicer camera. Any suggestions for a budget friendly camera?  Maybe I will ask for one for Christmas :) 12 more days...
